The domestic electrical installer course is one of our most popular offerings. Since launching the programme In 2020 we have seen over 50 people complete the 5 week training programme. Along the way we have helped new entrants break into the industry, given tradesmen new skills and qualifications and even launched new careers in the EV industry, you can read more about that here.
We are making changes to the course to improve the experience and help learners get the most from their time with us and progress their careers. From April the course will no longer include building regulations, this will be replaced by the LCL DEI award. There will also now be the option for delegates to choose between with the level 2 or 3 Inspection and testing certification.
These changes have been made to enable entrants with two years previous electrical installation experience, to sign up to the NAPIT Competent Persons Scheme and sign off their own work after course completion. There is no set parameter for the two years experience, an example would be a mechanic working with electrical components or a plumber installing electrical utilities. The changes will also help employers who are looking to upskill their team,
If you do not have the required two years experience or do not wish to join the NAPIT scheme, you will still be able to attend the course and the opportunity of work experience with a leading EV installation company is still available.
