Course Overview

The Energy storage course covers the design, installation and commissioning of energy/battery storage systems often used in conjunction with renewable energy solutions such as solar, to store and release energy as and when it is needed by the customer. For this reason many undertake this training in addition to our Solar PV Course. The qualification awarded, has been designed in conjunction with the latest IET Code of Practice and is recognised by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

Course Structure

Day 1: Theory training

Day 2: Practical Assessments and Online Multiple Choice Exam

Entry Requirements

Candidates will need a copy of the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems (3rd Edition). Copies can be brought with you or purchased from the centre for £75.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

This qualification is aimed at experienced and practicing electrical operatives, holding the following:

  • Level 3 Electrotechnical vocational qualification (NVQ or full apprenticeship or JIB Gold Card)

AND

  • BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations (current edition) qualification.

Note: For learners to meet the membership requirements of any competent person scheme, registration body or other professional recognition there may be additional requirements.

Evidence of your previous qualifications will need to be supplied prior to the course.
