Roles in gas engineering include explaining how installations and appliances work, providing energy efficiency advice and ensuring customer service excellence. Gas engineering operates strictly within the requirements of health and safety legislation. Our training facilities include classrooms for theory-based learning and workshops for practising gas work within a controlled environment. Many of the workshops are designed to reflect various setups and scenarios learners would potentially find when working out in the field. All apprentices are taught by experienced gas tutors providing the necessary knowledge and skills to complete their apprenticeship.
Gas engineering, a profession of utmost importance, entails the safe installation, commissioning, decommissioning, and ongoing service and repair of gas appliances in a domestic or non-domestic setting, with a primary focus on safety.
The Gas Engineering apprenticeship will include explaining how installations and appliances work and providing energy efficiency advice. Gas engineering operates within the health and safety legislation requirements.
Upon completion of their endpoint assessment, the apprentice will be a fully qualified gas-safe registered engineer. The apprenticeship is an 18-month process, with the endpoint assessment taking place in the last three months.

Gas engineering involves the safe installation, commission, decommission and the ongoing service and repair of gas appliances in either a domestic or non-domestic setting. Appliances can include, but are not limited to, a range of work categories such as central heating boilers, unvented hot water storage, ducted air heaters, cookers, space heaters, meters, alternative fuel, boosters, testing and purging for industrial pipework.
The Gas Engineering Operative Apprenticeship can lead to further opportunities in renewables training such as air source heat pumps.
Apprentices without level 2 English and mathematics will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment.
