Intro :

This is the second of three courses dealing with electrical maintenance. It is a practical course and emphasises those aspects of maintenance and fault diagnosis required in industry. Course delegates require sound knowledge of electrical principles as outlined in our first electrical course. This course may be studied as part of a skills flexibility training programme.

Aims :

This course aims to provide delegates with the underpinning knowledge and skills needed to undertake electrical maintenance on motors and motor controls safely and efficiently.

  • DC motor starters and protection
  • AC induction motors - single and three phase
  • Motor protection systems
  • Contactors and overloads, specification and maintenance
  • Motor starters: Direct on Line and Star Delta
  • Three phase distribution systems
  • Inverter basics
  • Testing of equipment and fault diagnosis
  • Identification of common electrical faults
  • Practical exercises
