2391 Course Information
This course combines content within 2391-50 Initial Verification and 2391-51 Periodic Inspection and Testing offering candidates the full Level 3 Award in Inspection & Testing. Candidates will learn the different methods of inspecting and testing various electrical installations, including both single or three-phase testing, in line with current BS 7671 requirements. The IET Guidance Note 3 text book will also be used to help aid candidates understanding of different testing techniques as well as how to complete certification and reports.

This course is intended for practising electricians or those who already work within the electrical industry who are looking to become formally qualified.
Additionally candidates must:
- Be minimum age 18 years old (mandatory)
- Be up to date with the latest IET 18th Edition wiring regulations
- Some knowledge and experience of inspection and testing of electrical installations

The inspection and testing course includes both practical and theory based classes and workshops, and concludes with one multiple-choice online test and a practical task, both of which determine whether you pass the course.

Candidates should ensure they bring a copy of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and Guidance Note 3: Inspection & Testing textbooks (we can provide these at an additional cost). Both books are used throughout the course and during the assessments.

What are the entry requirements?

Can I do the course remotely?
This course is currently all delivered face to face at our training centre in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
Do I need to purchase any extra course material?
Candidates must bring a copy of their 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, IET On-site Guide and Guidance Note 3 Resource books. These can be purchased directly with us or bought separately if you don't have a copy.
Can I Just take the assessments rather than the full course?
Assessment days are available to book on their own if you do not wish to take part in the full course. Contact us to find out more about how you can book onto one of our assessment days. Please note that no prior training is offered with this booking, and you will attend for assessments only.
