This updated training course teaches candidates how they can meet the standards of the latest IET Wiring Regulations (including Amendment 2 as of April 2022), covering essential aspects of the safety, selection and erection of electrical equipment inspection and testing.

We offer a 2 and 4 day course based on how confident candidates already are with the wiring regulations.

Updating your knowledge of 18th Edition wiring regulations enables ensures that your remain compliant with IET guidelines.

The regulations outlined in this textbook are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS7671) and must be adhered to when working on any wiring installation project. Failure to do so can to lead to potentially unsafe or inefficient installations.

Any individual looking to register with a Competent Person Scheme will also need to be qualified through an 18th edition course even if they have already completed a Level 3 NVQ.

Course Assessments

Assessments will be through a 2-hour multiple choice exam at the end of day 2.

Candidates will be able to use and refer to their 18th Edition Regulations book (BS 7671) throughout the examination.

What are the entry requirements?

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and must hold existing electrical qualifications.

Can I do the course remotely?

This course can be offered remotely, rather than within a designated training centre. Further details can be found here.

Are there any additional resources required for the course?

A copy of the IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition resource book is a requirement for the course and exam. You can purchase this from us as an add-on to your booking or you can bring your own copy with you to the course.

Can I just do the 18th edition assessment rather than the full training course?

 If you do not wish to take part in the full course, assessment days are available to book separately. You will need to call us on 0333 323 2723 to arrange this through one of our centres.
